Questions
Does this test my ping to a game server?
No. It measures the delay to the nearest Cloudflare server, which is usually in or near your city. A game server can be much farther away, so your ping in a game is often higher.
What is a good ping?
Under 30 ms is excellent and under 60 ms is fine for gaming and video calls. Above 100 ms you may notice lag.
What is jitter?
Jitter is how much the delay changes from one request to the next. High jitter causes stutter in calls and games even when the average ping is low.
Why is my ping higher on Wi-Fi?
Wi-Fi adds delay and jitter through interference and distance to the router. A cable connection is usually faster and steadier.
