Why does my mouse double click on its own?
A single press that registers as two clicks usually means the switch under the left button is wearing out. If the test flags intervals under 80 ms, cleaning or replacing the switch often fixes it.
Why does the scroll wheel scroll the wrong way?
Check the scrolling direction in your system settings or the mouse software. On a Mac, natural scrolling reverses the direction.
Why don't the side buttons respond?
Some mice need their own software to send back and forward. Also check that the buttons aren't assigned to another action.
How is polling rate measured?
Move the mouse quickly inside the test area. The test counts how many position reports the browser receives per second, so a 1000 Hz mouse shows about 1000 Hz; browsers that drop reports show a lower value.
