Questions
How do I check my mouse DPI?
Put a ruler next to the mouse, press Start, then hold the left button and move the mouse exactly the set distance. The test divides the counts by the distance in inches.
Why is the measured DPI different from my setting?
Pointer acceleration, a slightly wrong distance or a sensor that differs from its spec all change the result. Most mice land within about 5 to 10 percent of their setting.
What is the difference between DPI and CPI?
For a mouse they mean the same thing: how many counts the sensor reports per inch of movement. CPI is the more exact term.
What DPI is best for gaming?
Most players use 400 to 1600 DPI and set the speed inside the game. A higher DPI is not more accurate by itself.
