How accurate is an online color blind test?
It can show signs of a color vision deficiency, but screens differ in color and brightness. Only an eye doctor's test, such as Ishihara plates or an anomaloscope, can confirm it.
What do protan, deutan and tritan mean?
Protan means the red-sensitive cones in the eye are weak or missing, deutan the green-sensitive ones and tritan the blue-sensitive ones. Tritan types are much rarer.
How common is color blindness?
About 1 in 12 men and 1 in 200 women have red-green color blindness. Blue-yellow color blindness is rare.
Does my screen affect the result?
Yes. Turn off night mode, blue light filters and color effects, use normal brightness and look at the screen straight on.
