Rotate PDF

Drop a PDF here

One PDF file. Files stay on this device.

When some pages of a PDF come out sideways or upside down, this tool turns them by 90, 180 or 270 degrees and lets you download the corrected file. You can rotate the whole document or only the pages you pick.

It suits people who deal with scans of mixed orientation, students collecting notes into one file, and anyone working with technical documents that include landscape drawing sheets. The file is processed in the browser and does not leave your device.

How to use

  1. Drop the PDF on the page or press 'Choose PDF'. One file is open at a time; use the 'Replace' area to switch to another.
  2. Under 'Pages' each page has a small preview. To turn only some pages, click their previews to select them. 'Select all' marks every page and 'Select none' clears the selection.
  3. Press 'Rotate left', 'Rotate right' or 'Rotate 180°'. With nothing selected every page turns; with a selection only those pages do. The line above the buttons, such as 'Rotate all pages' or 'Rotate 3 selected pages', shows which case applies.
  4. Turned pages get a label like 'turned 90°', and the counters for 'Pages', 'Selected' and 'Rotated' update. If you made a mistake, 'Reset' undoes the rotations.
  5. When it looks right press 'Download'. The file name gets '-rotated' added. 'Clear' closes the file so you can start over.

When it helps

Scanners with automatic feeders often leave a few pages upside down. Instead of opening the file in a reader and fixing each page by hand, you can select the wrong ones here and turn them in one step.

A bundle of invoices for your accountant, or a scan of signed paperwork, may contain a landscape page that makes the reader tilt their head. The same applies to a PDF built from phone photos of slides, where a few pages tend to land sideways.

Tips

  • Pages are not redrawn. Only each page's rotation setting changes, so text stays sharp and selectable.
  • The new rotation is written into the file, so it looks the same in browsers, on phones and in PDF apps.
  • Locked or password-protected PDFs cannot be edited here. Remove the protection first.
  • Files over 200 MB can be slow or run out of memory.
  • Look at the previews first, select the pages that are wrong and turn only those. It is safer than turning everything and then spoiling the pages that were fine.
