The delete PDF pages tool removes the pages you do not want from a PDF and builds a new PDF from the rest. People use it to drop a blank or wrong page from a scanned document, an unneeded attachment from a contract, or the title page of a presentation.
The file is processed in your browser and never leaves your device. One PDF can be opened at a time.
How to use
- Drop the PDF on the page or open it with the Choose PDF button. Thumbnails of the pages appear under Pages.
- Click the thumbnail of each page you want to delete. Selected pages are marked as will be removed.
- With many pages, type the numbers into Pages to remove, for example 2-4, 9. A comma separates pages, a dash makes a range, and 8- means page 8 to the end.
- The Odd pages and Even pages buttons select all of them at once. Select none lets you start over.
- The summary line shows how many pages will be removed and how many remain.
- When ready, press the download button. To work on another file, use Replace.
When it helps
Cleaning out the blank pages a scanner leaves when the back of a sheet is empty is the most common job. Dropping the cover, a blank page or an unneeded attachment from a PDF you will add to an application is another.
There are tools that split a PDF to keep only some pages, but when only a few pages need to go, deleting is faster. Removing pages also helps when a file has to fit an upload limit on a government or company site.
Tips
- The new file is built only from the pages you keep, so deleted pages are not hiding inside it.
- Pages are copied as they are. Text stays selectable and images keep their quality, but bookmarks and links between pages are removed.
- Password protected PDFs cannot be edited here.
- At least one page must remain. Deleting every page is not allowed.
- Files over 200 MB may be slow or may fill up the memory.
