Drop a PDF here

One PDF file. Files stay on this device.

This lets you put your signature and the date on a PDF without printing, signing and scanning it back. You can draw the signature with a finger or mouse, type your name and have it turned into a signature-style script, or upload a photo of a signature you made on paper.

Freelancers, tenants, students and office staff use it for plain documents they have to return: contracts, declarations, permission forms, rental agreements. The pages of the PDF are copied as they are and the signature is added on top as a picture.

How to use

  1. Drop the PDF on the page or press 'Choose PDF'. The page shows in 'Page preview'; use 'Previous page' and 'Next page' to reach the page you need to sign.
  2. Under 'Signature' pick one of three ways. 'Draw' lets you sign in the 'Sign here' pad, with 'Undo' and 'Clear' if you slip. 'Type' uses the text in 'Your name'. 'Upload' takes a photo of your signature.
  3. Choose 'Black' or 'Blue' under 'Ink'. For an uploaded image, keep 'Make white background transparent' on so only the ink lands on the page.
  4. Press 'Add to page' and the signature appears on the page. Drag to move it and use a corner to resize it. With it selected, arrow keys move it 1 point, Shift makes that 10, and Alt with an arrow key resizes. 'Remove selected' or Delete takes it off.
  5. The 'Date' field starts with today's date; edit it if you like and press 'Add date' to place it under the signature. When finished, press 'Download'.

When it helps

When you are asked to return a rental agreement by email, sign a declaration for a job application, or hand in a permission slip by the end of the day, you can skip the print and scan. Prepare your signature once from a photo and reuse it on many documents.

On a multi-page PDF you can place a signature and a date in several spots. Go to each page and put them where they belong.

Tips

  • This adds a picture of your signature. It is not a qualified electronic signature with a certificate, so ask the recipient what they require.
  • If you upload a photo, sign with a dark pen on white paper and shoot in good light. Shadows and creases show up in the result.
  • Locked or password-protected PDFs cannot be edited here.
  • Large files can take a while to prepare, and the page tells you when that is the case.
  • Before you send the signed file, open the download and check that the signature sits where it should.

Questions
